A writer with an awesome quote

Neil-Gaiman

Neil Richard MacKinnon Gaiman is an English author of novels, short fiction, graphic novels, comic books, audio theatre and films. He said something genius once and NITCH, my favorite website posted his quote:

“Do the stuff only you can do. The urge starting out is to copy, and that’s not a bad thing. Most of us find our voices only after we sound like a lot of other people. But the one thing that you have that nobody else has is you: your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can. The moment that you feel that, just possibly, you’re walking down the street naked, exposing too much of your heart and your mind and what exists on the inside, showing too much of yourself, that’s the moment you may be starting to get it right.”

Parenthood – the TV series

Regardless if you are pregnant or have children, this show, “Parenthood”, is great for anyone who belongs to a family or wants to make a family. There are so many beautiful lessons throughout the series with the relationships portrayed by these magnificent actors whom will teach you how to love each other with respect and dignity. There was one scene in particular that was filled with awesome advice for a pregnant mom at her baby shower, about to embark on motherhood.

Here is the dialogue that took place during Amber’s baby shower. Her family sat around the table and gave her advice on motherhood. Season 6 episode 14 :

Christina (Aunt-in-law): Motherhood – you’re going to get a lot of curve balls thrown at you. Sometimes they’re going to make you want to run and hide, but my wisdom for you is to embrace those curve balls and to own them.

Julia (Aunt): I know you will do right by your child but you have to also do right for yourself. A huge part of being a mom is being a good role model. Don’t ever give up on your own dreams and don’t ever let anyone tell you you can’t do something.

Jasmine (Aunt-in-law): Don’t ever feel too proud to ask for help, because we are here for you.

Sarah (Mom): no matter what, I will always have your back.

Milly (Grandma): I would say to you that life is short, you can not know how impossibly fast it goes by, so just enjoy this baby, cherish this time, cherish every minute of it.

The Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly’s Grandparents were from different backgrounds. Her mothers parents were German and her fathers were Irish. With this combination, they created a gorgeous child. Also, her father was a three time Olympic Gold medalist in sculler, so fame came naturally to Grace.

Grace wanted to be on Broadway and moved from Philadelphia to NY to pursue her career. She had an Uncle there in the Arts that helped her get into the scene. By the age of 20, Grace featured in theatrical productions and live drama productions which was known as the Golden Age of Television.

She retired from acting at the young age of 26, because she became Princess consort of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier lll. They had three children together; Princess Caroline, Prince Albert, and Princess Stephanie.

Their wedding was highly publicized and so were all of her pregnancies. In all of my research, I have yet to find an actress from the Golden Era of Hollywood, photographed as much as Grace Kelly was during her pregnancies.

The tragedy is that Grace Kelly passed away at age 52 in a car accident. It is known that she had a stroke while she was driving and lost control of the car. Her daughter Stephanie, was in the passenger seat and survived the crash.

In the above photograph, Grace is covering her pregnant belly with her Hermes bag. Later, the bag was called, “The Kelly”, because she did this often. Many celebrities have copied her since then.
