Brigitte Bardot, the French bombshell, actress, model, singer, and animal rights activist was best known as a sex symbol of the 50’s & 60’s. She had her only child with her second husband, Jacques Charrier.
She is pregnant here with her son, Nicholas Jacques Charrier, born in 1960.
Natalie Wood was an American actress that starred in movies like; “Miracle on 34th Street, Splendor in the Grass, Rebel Without a Cause, and West Side Story.” She started as a Child actress and went on to receive Acadamy Award nominations throughout her career. She was born to Russian parents who immigrated to San Francisco, where she was born.
Natalie’s first love and first husband was actor, Robert Wagner. After they divorced, she married Richard Gregson, a British producer and Wood became pregnant with their daughter Natasha Gregson in 1970. They seperated soon after when Natalie over heard an inappropriate telephone conversations between her secretary and her husband Richard. In 1972, Wood resumed her relationship with Robert Wagner and they remarried that same year. Their daughter, Courtney Wagner, was born in 1974. They remained married until Natalie passed away seven years later in an undetermined drowning in Catalina Island, California.
Grace Kelly’s Grandparents were from different backgrounds. Her mothers parents were German and her fathers were Irish. With this combination, they created a gorgeous child. Also, her father was a three time Olympic Gold medalist in sculler, so fame came naturally to Grace.
Grace wanted to be on Broadway and moved from Philadelphia to NY to pursue her career. She had an Uncle there in the Arts that helped her get into the scene. By the age of 20, Grace featured in theatrical productions and live drama productions which was known as the Golden Age of Television.
She retired from acting at the young age of 26, because she became Princess consort of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier lll. They had three children together; Princess Caroline, Prince Albert, and Princess Stephanie.
Their wedding was highly publicized and so were all of her pregnancies. In all of my research, I have yet to find an actress from the Golden Era of Hollywood, photographed as much as Grace Kelly was during her pregnancies.
The tragedy is that Grace Kelly passed away at age 52 in a car accident. It is known that she had a stroke while she was driving and lost control of the car. Her daughter Stephanie, was in the passenger seat and survived the crash.
In the above photograph, Grace is covering her pregnant belly with her Hermes bag. Later, the bag was called, “The Kelly”, because she did this often. Many celebrities have copied her since then.

A very young Jane Fonda pregnant in 1968 with daughter Vanessa Vadim, daughter of Jane and Roger Vadim. Jane had another biological son with her second husband and named him Troy, in 1973. She later adopted Mary known as Lulu in 1982.
Susan Sarandon, now 68 years old, is an American actress, an Academy Award and BAFTA Award winner who is also known for her social and political acivism. In the mid-1980’s Sarandon dated Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri and she gave birth to their daughter actress Eva Amurri, in 1985. Later, Sarandon was in a relationship with actor Tim Robbins, whom she met while they were filming Bull Durham. They have two sons; Jack Henry in 1989 and Miles Guthrie born in 1992.
A very pregnant Mia Farrow, the actress was famously known for her role in, “Rosemary’s Baby”, as well as being married to Frank Sinatra and having a twelve year relationship with Woody Allen. Here she is pregnant with twins; Matthew and Sascha in 1970 from her second husband Andre Previn. She had another biological child with him as well named Fletcher in 1974. Mia had a total of four biological and nine adopted children.
Meryl Streep received an Oscar for her role in the movie, “Sophie’s Choice” in 1983 while pregnant with her first daughter Mamie Gummer. Her pregnancy was not mentioned in her acceptance speech.
